The Blount County Memorial Museum was opened to the public in 1970.  The museum was made possible by the efforts of the Blount County Historical Society and Blount County residents, building on a memorial fund of $2500 to honor Blount County war veterans which was donated in teh 1950's.  It was perhaps the most important project undertaken by the historical society to date.
Today, the museum stands proudly to display the untied efforts of those individuals and organizations that chose to honor Blount County's war veterans, and to appreciate the heritage of the past and the need to preserve it.  This is a debt we owe to the past, present and future.

The Museum offers publications by local authors, post cards, prints, note cards, art print ceramic tiles, and souvenirs of Blount County. The Museum offers a area with a seating capacity of fifty is available to civic, school and tour groups.
