THE SOUTHERN DEMOCRAT (10 May 1923)
IN MEMORY OF JOHNNIE WARD
On the 19th of April, 1923, God in His tender mercy saw fit to send the death angel into the home of Mrs. Louisa Ward and take from her loving arms the spirit of little Johnnie, out of his afflictions to reign with God and be at rest.
Weep not, dear mother, for now he is an angel, standing at the window of heaven, beaconing to mother and loved ones to come on and be re-united around the throne of God, where there will be no affliction.
When he was on earth he could not say “mother”, but his tongue is loosed—he can say Jesus.
Johnnie was a loving child, four years and seven months old, and had been a sufferer all his life.
