William Rice Submitted by Terry Jackson The Southern Democrat Oneonta, Alabama 4-23-1914 William Rice Dead We regret to note the death of William Rice which occurred last Friday. He had a stroke of paralysis last May from which he never recovered. Mrs. Rice was 78 years of age and was one of Blount's best citizens. He was a devout christian and had been a member of the Baptist church for many years. He was one of the old soldiers who saw hard service in the Confederate Army. The deceased was a brother of our townsman, Jake Rice, who attended the funeral.
