Morgan County
+ Dorcas or Elizabeth ?
2. Mary Hill b. Abt 1822 d. 6 Apr 1856
+ Sherrill Smith, Sr b. Abt 1820 d. 21 Sep 1845

BATY
I have been researching the family of John F.[letcher] Baty whom married Mary Jane {Wright}, 10 Jan.1873, in Howell Co., MO. I have found 13 children born to them in Howell Co., between 1874 and 1895, then they moved to Indian Territory, [later Oklahoma]. Johns' death certificate states he was born [Jan.1844] in Marshall Co., AL. I can't find any trace of John, in census or any other records prior to this marriage.I did find a John Baty in 1870 Morgan Co., Al. census, but can't be sure if he is the same John.A possible for parents are William G. Baty/Beaty & Sallie Grisham, not certain though, as some family members think he was actually born to a Wiggins family then adopted by the Baty/Beaty family at an early age. Don't know who his siblings were but present family members state that they think were several. Maybe 16 I would like to hear from researchers that show John F. as an ancestor or sibling of their ancestor, that might have further info., about his parents or siblings.Hoping some one has some reliable info. or can tell me where to find such adoption records if in fact there were such records in Alabama in the 1850 time period. Thank you-
