J.E. Green has moved with his family from Nectar to Oneonta.
John W. Green, of route 3, Altoona, and Wm. Duke, of route 2, Altoona, were among our callers on the 11th.
J.E. Green will organize a Rebecca lodge, of I.O.O.F., at Locust Fork next Saturday night.
Robert Kelton, who is attending school at Blountsville, called to see us Tuesday. He was returning from Gadsden where he had been to the football game between Blountsville and Albertville. The game resulted, 18 to 6 in favor of Blountsville.
Rev. J.N. Davidson, of Haleyville; Luther Davidson, Emerson Davidson and wife, of East Lake, attended the Fricke-Davidson wedding at Cleveland on the 11th.
The many friends of Miss Pearl Marlowe will be pleased to learn that she is getting along nicely.
We are sorry to learn that Mrs. Artimissia Johnson, of Route 2, Bangor, had the misfortune to lose her house and it contents by fire last Thursday night. It is supposed to have been ignited by a bottle of
kerosene being knocked off the mantel by a cat on the hearth. There was
no-one in the house.
At Royal Monday morning a barn belonging to B.C. Bynum was destroyed by fire. the barn was being used by J.D. Bellenger who had difficulty in rescuing his mule from the flames. Mr. Bellenger had his feed stuff, valued at about $200.00, stored in the barn and all of it was destroyed. The origin of the fire is unknown. The blaze was discovered about 8 o'clock Monday morning.
Mrs. Addie Garriett, died at the home of Commissioner J.T. Blalock at Tait's Gap,age about 68 years. This good christian lady was a sister to Mrs. Blalock, with whom she made her home, had been an invalid for some time but the immediate cause of her death was a stroke of paralysis. The remains were laid to rest in Liberty cemetery, November 12th, Rev. S.C. Allgood conducting the funeral services.
