We are sorry to hear that Joseph Greene was shot by Spurgeon Cox, on the public road, five miles east of Brooksville, on the 15th inst. The ball entered the right hip and is supposed to have lodged in the abdomen. It is feared that the wound may prove fatal. Both parties are unmarried, and Cox had not been arrested at last accounts.

UPDATE:
The ball has been extracted. Green is getting better. It is supposed that Cox has fled to Georgia.
