Jesse Holcomb, a young man who lives in Birmingham, came near meeting a horrible death near Oneonta Wednesday when he was struck by a train and knocked from the track. It seems that young man had been drinking heavily and had sat down upon the railroad track and while in an unconcious condition was struck by the train. His shoulder was pretty badly broken up and he was carried to a Birmingham Infirmary for treatment.
