Mr. Albert Harper, the young poet was in to see us one day last week.
The recent heavy rains have put the farmers considerably behind with
their crops. Some bottom lands have not yet been planted.
The crowd that went to Brooksville Sunday from this place was not as
large as it has been heretofore on the first Sunday in May.
Mr. Gen. Montgomery left Monday for Decker, Texas where he will spend
the summer and fall. George is a hustling young man and we wish him
success.
Died--In Blountsville April 29, 1896, of comsumption, Mr. Sol
Leadbetter.
Prof. C.L. Whaley took in the commencement at Albertville this week.
Dr. J.C. Westbrook is spending this week at Oneonta in the interest of
his profession.
Miss Lou James, of Arkadelphia is the guest of Miss Minnie Whaley this
week.
