Richard Martin Burgess Submitted by Diane Bryant THE SOUTHERN DEMOCRAT (5 Jun 1952) RICHARD MARTIN BURGESS Richard Martin Burgess, of Rt. 2, Blountsville died at his residence on May 27 after being in bad health for a long time. Surviving are one son, Ollie Burgess, Rt. 2, Blountsville; four daughters, Mrs. Ardell Murphree, St. Rt., Blountsville, Mrs. Lee Geaves, Rt. 2, Blountsville, Mrs. Lillis Black, Garden City, Mrs. Ver Mae Roberts, Rt. 1, Bangor; one brother, Frank Burgess, Garden City; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Posey, Blountsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 29, at Austin Creek with Rev. Waltrer Phillips in charge of services. Interment in adjoining cemetery, with Chambers Brown Service directing.
