In Memory of Grandma Green

On May the 30th at 11:40 p.m., the death angel visited the home of Uncle Sanford Green and took away his sweet and loving companion. Oh, how sad it was to give her up. It makes home so lonely without her sweet smiles and kind words. She always met everyone with a kind word and was always talking about the love of God. Grandma has been afflicted for several years, but bore her suffering with patience. She was only seriously sick 30 minutes before she passed away, but just a few minutes before the last she was shouting God's praises. Her last words were, "I am with sweet Jesus and His angels." She has gone to yonder city, to those mansions, bright and fair, there to dwell with Jesus and to greet her loved ones there. Grandma was 78 years and 8 months old and she leaves to mourn her death, her husband, 5 step-children, C.W. Green and P.V. Green, of Birmingham, Mrs. Lizzie Murphree, of Cullman; W.A. Green, of Jasper and Mrs. O.L. Kinney of Horton, and one sister, Mrs. Nourish, of Boaz; one half sister, Mrs. Johnson, of High Point and three half brothers; Hershel Johnson, of Joppa, a Mr. Johnson of Georgia and a Mr. Johnson, of Texas and host of other relatives and friends. The deceased was laid to rest in Pleasant Grove cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Black.
Written by her step daughter, Georgia Kinney.
