Green Posey Dies in Texas

News has reached here of the death in Cleburne. Texas, of Green B. Posey, a former citizen of this County. His death occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.A. McClendon.

A Cleburne, Texas paper gives the following sketch of Mr. Posey's life which will be of interest to his many friends in this County: "Mr. Posey was born in Blount County, Ala., Nov. 22, 1841. He was married to Miss Mary Jane Harris, Dec. 27, 1867. To this union were born nine children, six of whom are living. "Mr. and Mrs. Posey came to Texas 13 years ago, residing in Midlothian until seven years ago when they moved to this city. He was a Civil War veteran and has many friends in the Pat Cleburne camp. His health had been failing him for the past few years and he has been confined to his bed for the past three weeks. Mr. Posey joined the Methodist church thirty years ago in Alabama and since moving to Cleburne has been a member of the Anglin Street Methodist church. He was an upright man of high principles and a thoughtful husband and father, always looking to the welfare of his family. Heart trouble was the cause of his death.

"He leaves to morn him his wife, Mary Jane Posey, and the following children: Mrs. F. B. McClendon, R.C. Posey, H.H. Posey, of Hillsboro, who had been at his bedside during his illness; J.A. Posey of San Antonio, O.G. Posey of Richmond, Colo., and T. B. Posey of Thayer, Mo., all of who were unable to attend his bedside.
