James Elbert Blackwood Submitted by Diane Bryant THE SOUTHERN DEMOCRAT (19 Nov 1959) Obituary James Elbert Blackwood James Elbert Blackwood, 76, of Cleveland route 2, died Monday, November 16, in a Tuscaloosa hospital. A farmer and a member of Cleveland Baptist Church, the Bounty County native was the son of the late Isaac and Mary Wood Blackwood. Surviving are the Widow, Mrs. Annie Horton Blackwood of Cleveland route 2, Lesco of Birmingham; three daughters, Mrs. Herman McCullough of Cleveland, Mrs. F.G. Tidwell and Mrs. Dennis Earl Gallman of Birmingham; four brothers, Ben and Tallie Blackwood of Purvis, Miss., Austin Blackwood of Birmingham, J.B. Blackwood of Blountsville. Last rites were held Wednesday, November 18, from Cleveland Baptist Church, the Revs. Joel Oswalt and Ed Horsley officiating. Interment was in the Cleveland Cemetery, Lemley in charge.
