FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR NORMAN FENDLEY

Funeral services for John Norman Fendley, 42, formerly of this city, were held from Lester Memorial Methodist Church, Monday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock. Mr. Fendley who had been manager of Martin Theatre at Andalusia for the past three and half years, died suddenly while at work at the theatre early Sunday afternoon.

He is well known in Oneonta, having spent his youth here. He was the son of Mrs. Kate Hagood Fendley and the late A.A. Fendley. His wife is the former Annie Ruth Blackwood of Cleveland.

He attended Birmingham Southern College and was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas.

Mr. Fendley was a member of the Andalusia Lions Club and the Methodist Church of the city. He was vice president of the Andalusia Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Besides the widow and his mother, he is survived by one son, John Norman, Jr., a brother, Carey S. Fendley, of Ashville, N.C., and a sister, Mrs. Portis Cade, of Faunsdale.

Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.
