Rev. A.C. Johnson Found Dead In Bed

The Rev A.C. Johnson, 88, former resident of Etowah County, was found dead in bed Saturday morning, June 22, at the home of his son, John R. Johnson, on Horton Route 2, in the Douglas community. The Baptist minister was born in Randolph County but for the past 21 years until several months ago when he moved to Marshall County to live with his son because of his health. He was a Baptist minister for 70 years. Surviving are two sons, John R. Johnson, Horton, Route 2, and A.T. Johnson, Boaz Route1, and 20 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at Happy Hill Baptist Church near Mountainboro, with Rev. G.A. Gilliland officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Drinkard Funeral Home of Boaz, in charge.
