MRS. MARY BLACKWOOD DEAD

Mrs. Mary Blackwood, age 89, widow of the late Anderson Blackwood, died at the home of her son, A.B. Blackwood, on Route 1, Cleveland, Saturday May 8th. The deceased was well known to many people of Blount County. She was a consecrated Christian woman, and was a member of the Methodist Church, having joined that faith at the age of 17 years.

She is survived by two sons, A.B. Blackwood, of Route 1 Cleveland, and Bert Blackwood, who lives in Winston County; three daughters, Mrs. Fenie Stephens, Route 1, Cleveland, Mrs. Jay Beele Cornelius and Mrs. Ludy Sloan of Route 3, Blountsville.

Funeral services were held at Haw Grove Church (Five Points) Sunday, May 9th, with interment in Blackwood Cemetery. Revs. Ellis Herring and O.D. Thomas conducted the services, with Robinette of Oneonta in charge.
