Mrs. Mattie Lee Blackwood Dead
Mrs. Mattie Lee Bryan Blackwood, age 48, wife of Lindsey Blackwood, died late Tuesday afternoon at their home on Route 2, Cleveland. Her death was the result of cancer, from which she had suffered for many months.
Besides the husband and mother, she is survived by 2 sons, Denton and Russell Blackwood, of Route 2, Cleveland; five daughters, Mrs. George Faulkner, (Lorene), Blountsville, Route E, Mrs. Charles Faulkner, (Pauline), Liberty, Mrs. Leslie Ellis (Bernice), Route 2, Cleveland, and, Barney and Blackwood, of Route 2, Cleveland; five brothers, Bud, Jay, Walter, Harley and Ed Bryan; three sisters, Mrs. Bellew, Mrs. Pernie Herrington and Mrs. Alma Sterling; also 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Haw Grove Baptist Church, Wednesday afternoon, and were conducted by Revs. J.A. Smallwood, M. Pruitt and Lester Kent, with Drinkard of Oneonta in charge of services.
