Mrs. Pheny Stephens Submitted by Diane Bryant THE SOUTHERN DEMOCRAT (17 May 1962) Obituary Mrs. Pheny Stephens, 87, died May 14 at her residence on route three Blountsville. Daughter of the late Anderson and Mary Handley Blackwood, she was born in Blount County and attended Cleveland Church of Christ. Surviving are four sons, Isaac, Sylvester, Elton, all of route three Blountsville, Harvey of Snead; three daughters, Mrs. Ida Glasscock and Mrs., Dessie Baba of Cleveland, Mrs. Lennie Blackwood of Oneonta; two brothers, Alfred Blackwood of route one Cleveland, Burton Blackwood of route one Harley; one sister, Mrs. Linda Sloan of route three Blountsville; 29 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren. The Rev. Leo Dolihyte officiated at the funeral services held May 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Dailey's Chapel Church. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery, Lemley in charge.
