Aunt Sallie Smith Dies
Mrs. Sallie Smith, widow of George Smith, late of Blount County, deceased; died at her home near Lee's Chapel, April 19th, 1926. Aunt Sallie as she was familiarly known was born, Oct. 6, 1846. She was converted and joined the Baptist Church at the age of 16 years, and lived a consistent member of the same until her death. The writer preached her funeral and she was buried at Lee's Chapel cemetery. Aunt Sallie was a great character in this life, always going about doing good in her sweet assuming way. To know her was to love her. She was always smiling when in company, thus bringing sunshine and happiness to all whom she came in contact. She left a number of step-children, a host of friends and relatives to mourn her loss. She was a member of Pleasant Mt., Baptist Church at the time of her death. J.B. Horton.
