Joy Virgile Lee Blackwood, 55, died of a heart attack early Friday morning at his home on Route 3, Blountsville. His funeral was held Saturday at Mt. Joy Primitive Baptist Church. Rev. A.J. Autry and Rev. David Green conducted the services, with Brown-Service in charge of burial in the Mt. Joy Cemetery. Mr. Blackwood, a carpenter and farmer by trade, was the son of Mr. And Mrs. Jesse Blackwood, who survive him. Other survivals are four sisters, Mrs. Ellie Bicknell, Oneonta; Mrs. Elizie Robertson, Mrs. Effie Teal, Mrs. Ruby Snell, all of Blountsville, Route 3.
