ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: John Brady and Lloyd Beavers both lived in Blount County in the mid 1800's and both fought for the Confederacy in Co. K of the 19th Alabama Infantry under a Capt. Skinner. Lloyd's wife, Sarah Gilliam Beavers served as the first school teacher in Cleveland, Alabama in a one room school house on her property. Lloyd died right after the war and she married a neighbor, John Tidwell. Lloyd and Sarah's daughter, Martha Isabelle Beavers married the son of the neighbor Brady's, James Samuel Brady. James and Martha moved to Texas and eventually settled in Bay city, Texas where they owned a grocery store and lumber yard and had lots of rental property. They had 13 children, one of which, Minnie Belle Brady was my grandmother. She was only 5 feet tall and married a man from Tenn. named Lacy Midgett, making her legal name, "Minnie Midgett".

Red is now deceased his wife's name was Mary Myrick Burgett. Some of the childrens names are Jimmy Burgett, who is also deceased, there were also a set of twin boys born December 20,1981, and both died on May of 1983. AL and served until May 1865. This unit was attached to the Army of Tennessee, served in the Battle of Atlanta and opposed Sherman's march to the sea. His son Francis Lawson LOWREY (my g gf) was born in Alabama, possibly Blount Co. in about 1855. Another son Wilie P. was born in Georgia about 1850.
