"Thomas S. Herbert" is the only gravestone remaining in what was once a large family cemetery on the Ridge Road (County Road 54) in northwest Butler County.  Thomas Sharpe HERBERT (1773-1833) was the son of Revolutionary War soldier Thomas Herbert and Jemima Dawkins of Virginia and South Carolina.  Believed also to be buried here are Thomas' wife Elizabeth Hampton, his brother John Herbert, and other relatives.
