In the issue of 1/12/1927 of the Greenville Advocate newspaper:

Frank Gallagher
Greenville Butler County Alabama.
1-12-1927

Although preceded by an illness of several months' duration death came suddenly to Mr. Frank Gallagher on Saturday evening.

Mr. Gallagher was born in Ireland 80 years ago.  He came to the United States when a young man and moved to Greenville some thirty years ago, making his home with J C Cassady.  In this home he lived during the whole of his residence here.  He was a quiet, unassuming man, who never made an enemy but made many friends all over this territory, in which he traveled.

Mr. Gallagher was a member of the Catholic Church and was one of the founders of St. Elizabeth church in this city.  Rev. Fr. T M Cullen of Montgomery was with him when he died.

The deceased was a widower and had one son, who was city clerk of Atlanta at the time of his death some year ago.  A sister and a nephew, living at Butte, Montana, are the only near relations, and the nephew, Mr. James Gallagher, will arrive here today to accompany the body to Birmingham where interment will take place beside the body of the wife who preceded him many years ago.

The people named in the probate are these: To James Gallagher and Mary Burke of Ireland; Annie McMahon and James Gallagher Jr., of Butte, Montana and Mary McGroarty of New Albany, Pennsylvania.
