THIS PHOTO OF A W. T. SMITH LUMBER CO. railroad logging camp features three 5-mule teams and the men who worked them. The photo was brought in by J. O. Mitchell of McKenzie, and was made near Piney Woods Creek, near the old Ransom Presley homestead, south of McKenzie, approximately 1923 or 1924. The three men sitting on the mules are Hill Paulk, Capers Mitchell and Jack Kelley. The names of the black men in the photo were unknownby Mr. Mitchell.
