I am trying to find some information out about my fathers family. My fathers name was Ralph "D" DINGLER. I believe he was born in Anniston Alabama on March 21, 1928. He died on April 14, 1992 in Anniston alabama. His parents were Casper "D" DINGLER and Maggie DINGLER. He had one sister named Betty DINGLER later married James HILL and a step-sister named J'nell MAULTBE and she married Zeb WHITWORTH. I am researching the family of James Andrew SIMPSON. He was b abt 1815 in NC and d abt 1890 in Piedmont, Calhoun Co., AL James married three time. 1st to Nancy CARMICHAEL in 1841 2nd to Eliza ELLISON in 1847 in Carroll Co., GA and 3rd to Nancy Jane INGRAM in 1852. He was living in Paulding Co., GA in 1860, but move to Calhoun Co., AL after the CW. His children that lived and married were:

I am looking for information on my g-g-grandparents, Jesse Jenkins PEOPLES and Mary Jordon SHORES married December 29, 1880, in Clay County, Alabama. Jesse and Mary lived on Gurnee Avenue in Anniston, Calhoun County, Alabama from approximately 1900 until their deaths in 1933 (Jesse) and 1923 (Mary). Both are buried in Edgemont Cemetery. After the death of Mary, Jesse married Maude ___________ and they had 2 daughters: Helen and Mary Milow. Have no other information on Maude or the children. Jesse was suppose to have been on the police force in Anniston. According to her obituary, Mary was an active member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church and her funeral arrangements were made by Bagley and Stanley. Their daughter Lula Ophelia (called "Diner" by her) husband, John Stanley POSEY. John Stanley POSEY's parents were Samuel J. POSEY and Ellen STANLEY. Other children besides John were Agatha, Lonnie, Laura to name a few. Ellen STANLEY's dad was John, mother either Nobey or Nodey unknown. I am looking for information on Mary EVANS who lived in Calhoun County around 1900. She is shown on the 1900 Census living with William EVANS -- presumably her son. Mary was the second wife of Walter R. EVANS of Tallapoosa/Macon County. Walter died in 1899. Mary is listed in the Civil War Widow's Pension files as the surviving spouse of Walter, and her address is given as Calhoun County. I am looking for the parents and siblings of James T. GAINES . He was born near Heflin , Ala. in 1836 / 1840 . He and three brothers fought in the Civil War of which his three brothers died in the war. One died at Fort Delaware . He later married Elizabeth Frances STEWART CHANDLER. She had had two children from her first marriage to James Berry CHANDLER. They were married in Louisiana in Feb. 1867. They had one child. Also any more information other than above would be most appreciated.

Looking for info to trace my WOOD line further back. I have William Hampton WOOD married to Frances M. LANE in Hall, Georgia. Their children, born in Cross Plains, Benton County Alabama are: Joel Gilmore, John Wesley, William Hampton, James O., Nancy C., Green, Sarah, Benjamin F. and Francis Marion. William Hampton was born about 1806 in South Carolina. Most of the children, born between 1829-1850, went on to Jonesboro, Arkansas to live.

It is believed that he was married several times. I have been unable to locate any marriage records for him. His father was Richard Warren P. SASNETT, mother is believed to be Martha A. DUTTON.

Does anyone know of a sawmill accident that occured in 1900 in or near the town of Anniston? Family lore says my g-g- grandfather, Frank RORK, died in such an accident. Although his family (wife, children and parents) all lived acorss the state line in Haralson County, GA, I supposed he could have found work in Alabama..... Any info would be greatly appreciated!
