I am looking for a map to an old cemetery that sits on the north side of Ft. McClellan. I have not been there in decades and the maps I have found of the area are no help. Also I have access to an aerial photo of Ft. McClellan (via Google Earth) but cannot see any cemeteries. Also, there has been a lot of change in the constructions, layout, etc., of Ft. McClellan since I was there. Do you have any idea where I can get a map? Thanks for your time: L. D. Smith

I am researching two separate issues. First, I need some clarification on exactly where Rabbittown is, since I also have references to Winston County, quite a distance from Calhoun County. Second, I am trying to determine the correct ancestor line for my wife's grandfather, Raymond Monroe MURRAY Sr., but have two to pick from. In an 1880 Federal Census, I have an R.G. MURRAY (wife Nancy) with children Aner J., W.H., John H, Ana C., Mary L., and James MURRAY. I also have a 1990 Census record with an R.A. MURRAY (Robert Augustus MURRAY is the GGGrandfather's name I have from other records.) His wife is also Nancy, but with children James J., Robert A, Sarah L., and Martha S. MURRAY. These children also appear in a Family Group Record from the Mormons with other, older children. In both cases, ages of the parents would be about the same (Robert A. born 1842, died 1917 in Calhoun; Nancy B. JENNINGS born 1850, died 1925 in Calhoun.)The probable GGrandfather, James (born 1880 in Calhoun), is also nearly the same in each case. I've also found one reference to three MURRAY brothers who migrated to Rabbittown in 1842, but can find nothing about it when I go to the source. I have a Henry, John, and Andrew Jackson MURRAY in my records who could have moved from South Carolina about that time, but no further confirmation on them, either. Any assistance or information about the MURRAYs and Rabbittown would be greatly appreciated. At the very least, I'd like to know which line I actually need to follow. Thank you very much for any time and energy expended trying to help me clarify (solve?) what I now have. Michael Thomas

HYATT - I am trying to research my great great grandfather. He is believed to have drowned in Calhoun County, Georgia. Unconfirmed year is around 1831. We believe his first name may be John and possible middle initial C. Family rhetoric is that his death was never solved to be either homicide or accidental, but of course the family thought it was suspicious. He is said to have been found face down in a river "near Calhoun, Georgia". His son, Joseph Larkin Hyatt, is my great grandfather.

Am looking for any information regarding the death and burial site of MARY JANE WEAVER supposed to have lived in the McFall area of Alabama in or around 1913. She was supposed to live in Calhoun County, but when she died on March 28, 1913 a health statistic record we have on her lists a health officer from Talladega County filled out the papers and through family history we think she was buried in Eastaboga, AL. Since it has been almost 100 years, no one in family living can recall any more info than this. She is my GGGrandmother and need this info to complete search I'm doing for future generations.
