Kaizer Hill Cemetery

Choctaw County, AL

These graves are found in the woods, up on a bank, behind the Belmont Church on Highway 14, between Gilbertown and Melvin, Alabama. The Belmont Church is a black church. A black lady told me where to find these graves. It appears that this was a large cemetery at one time, but only a few markers were found. Both whites and blacks are buried there, one on each side of the old road. I was told that the original Melvin Church once stood here beside what was then the main road.
