Thomas Nordan, Declaration Adopting Child

The State of Alabama
Choctaw County, Alabama

J. Thomas Nordan, of said county and state, do hereby declare in the presence of James Conner & D.H. Rainey, that I desire to adopt and hereby adopt Josephine, a female child of nine years of age so as to make her, the said Josephine, capable of inheriting my estate real and personal.

And I do further declare that it is my desire that the name of said child be changed from Josephine as she is without known parentage only known by the name of Josephine, her present name to that of Josephine Nordan.
