FehlCopyist Form # 686 .Died of a disease.I am interested in getting Daniel Atchley, wife May and Children back tothe state they came from. I am sure it is TN but have not been able toprove it. They were on the 1830federal census of Washington Co. AL. Then Choctaw County ws formed out ofWashington Co. then 1850 they were in Choctaw Co. AL. but were still inthe same place. I have not been able to locate the family on a 1840federal census.My Atchley"s are found on 1850, 1860,1870, 1880, 1900 and 1910 federal censuses of Choctaw county AL. but I can not find out anything beforethey came to AL.

I am searching for informaton about James Wesley MCCARTY. Md. Harriett O. NELSON in 1850. Their children were Mary Elizabeth MCCARTY b 1851; John AmasaMCCARTY b 1852; Henry Wallace MCCARTY b 1855; and Emma Catherine MCCARTY b 1858.James lived in his mother-law's house-hold (Widow Elizabeth MASON) in Choctawin 1850. Have not been able to find him in 1860. James was in the 27thAla. Inf. and killed in the last year of the war. The Ala. & Nationl Archives do nothave his war records. Thephoto I have of my great-great-grandfather Zack ROGERS Sr. (3 Feb 1841 -21 Sep 1917) shows him to be very tan with almond shaped eyes andresembling Native Americans. I have noted that the famous Will ROGERSwas part Cherokee and am wondering if they may be related. Zack wasborn in Jasper Co MS, married Martha ELLIOTT (2 Sep 1841 - 4 Apr 1919),and died in Cullomberg AL. They parented Elizabeth ROGERS (7 Mar 1897 -14 Apr 1902) who was born in Rescuville, Choctaw Co AL, married WarrenBURT (18 Oct 1858 - 25 Jul 1927) on 4 Mar 1897 in Rescueville, lived andparented in Clarke Co MS and died of scarlet fever and childbirthcomplications.

Alabama as well as Wilson D., Mary G., John A.,James T., Winnie A., Richard T., Nancy A., Eliza J., (twins) Elijah andElisha, and William C.

This was from the Choctaw County 1860 US Census: Bladen Spring, SeptSept. 9, 1860

Apparently the family moved to Choctaw C. around 1855. Also, it appears Richard Thomas ROPER was married to an Elenor, (who I have noinformation about) at the time of the census. Or it could be a mistakein the spelling of the name. As Hellena Ellana Delvina CORLEY died in1861 in Choctaw Co., Alabama.

I am researching my family lines that are tied into this county. Theearliest of my DILLARD line is my great-great-great grandfather, John MDILLARD who married a distant cousin, Sufronia DILLARD. My earliestMOORE line is my great-great grandfather, Andrew J MOORE who marriedSusan Elizabeth CARTER. Susan's family owned the local hotel in Butlerduring and after the Civil War. She continued to own it until the timeof her death in the earlier part of this century. The earliest of myHURST line is my great grandmother, Willie Pearl HURST. We know herfather's name was Will and her mother was Alice GOREE. I have quite alot on my GOREE and DAY relatives from other research sources.
