          Michael DICKSON moved to the area of Cold Water Spring in what is now Tuscumbia, Alabama in about 1817.
          In the book TWO HUNDRED YEARS AT MUSCLE SHOALS by Nina Leftwich four brother-in-laws of Michael DICKSON are mentioned as having joined him in Tuscumbia, Alabama a year or two after his own arrival there. They are : Isaiah DILL, James McMANN, Hugh FINLEY, and Mr. MATTHEWS. In the book HERITAGE OF COLBERT COUNTY the brother-in-laws are mentioned as : Isiah McDILL, James MACAN, Hugh FINLAY, and ___MATTHEWS. The Colbert County book states that MACAN and McDILL moved to West Tennessee in about 1831 or 1832. Mr FINLAY remained in Franklin or Colbert County till his death, some 15 years later and Mr MATTHEWS died in the vicinity only a few years after his arrival. If these are Michael DICKSON’s brother-in-laws, they must have been married to Michael’s wife’s sisters since Michael only had one sister and she was married to James Pearsall and remained in North Carolina. Michael’s wife was Sene WILLIAMS daughter of John WILLIAMS of North Carolina. She had at least 6 sisters. Can anyone help me find the names of the wives of the aforementioned men?? I will appreciate any clue, no matter how small as to the names , marriage dates, and location of any of these people or their descendants.

          I am looking for information on my mothers uncle: Richard Haake, b.abt. 1864 in Germany. Naturalization intent filed in Winona, MN Oct. 1892, listed on the 1920 Census, Dickson, Colbert, AL. married to Lou and no children. Also it was stated on census microfilm that in 1900 he lived in: 15 Precinct Allsboro, Colbert County, Alabama. His wife’s name-Martha, married one yr. – no children.
          The story goes that he “raised angora goats and had peach trees”. I am looking for any information. He had three brothers in MN and a sister in Germany. We think he may have died in the 1930’s. Any help is appreciated. He is the ‘long lost uncle’!

          I am searching for the grave of this woman.
          She was the widow of Jackson Craig MONTGOMERY, 4th Ala. Cavalry (Roddey's) Co. A. who died in Lawrence County Sept. 1904.
          Fady applied for Jackson's CSA Pension from Colbert County where she may have moved to after Jackson's death. I am unable to determine with whom who she may have lived or why she moved to Colbert, but feel she likely died there sometime after 1905 from the last entry in the Pension File.
          She was born in Lawrence Co. in 1834 to Lewis DUNLAP & Matilda ROSE, married Stephen LITTLE (16th Ala. Inf. Co I) June 1, 1858 also in Lawrence and had one child Julia Alice LITTLE. Stephen was killed during the war in August of 1862 and Fady married Jackson Craig MONTGOMERY 1870 in Lawrence.
          Her religious persuasion was likely Baptist.
          She is a double CSA widow and I would love to find her grave if anyone knows information that may be helpful.

Seeking date and place of death, also photograph, of Phil Campbell, born in England 1847, lived Evansville, IN in 1880.  He was an early settler of Sheffield, AL, becoming one of first aldermen in 1885 and mayor of city 1893-95.  He was a railroad construction supervisor and built a line through Franklin County where the town of Phil Campbell was named in his honor.  He was single in 1880.

Spencer's in Chickasaw, Riverton, Tuscumbia and Sheffield
I am researching Spencer's from 1840 -1920 living in Chickasaw, Riverton Tuscumbia and Sheffield.  Of particular interest are families of A. E. Spencer born 1824 in TN; Oliver E. Spencer born 1826 in TN; Jesse (Jessey) Spencer born 1824 in TN; Thomas Spencer born 1833 in TN, and George Spencer born 1835 in TN.  All of these Spencer's first appear living in Franklin County In the village of Chickasaw (later named Riverton) in the1850 census.  Thomas Spencer is my gggrandfather.  He owned and operated the Spencer Hotel at Riverton, and also operated the first public ferry across the TN River from Riverton to Waterloo.

          My ancestry beginning with my g-grandparents backwards to the gg-grandparents. I am hoping to close up some loose ends on this side of my family. Their names were William Jasper Frances Marion Nichols who married Martha Edgar Clementine Craig. He was the son of John Jackson Nichols(b. Sept. 8 1845 d. Oct. 28 1894) m. Julianne Goldsmith ( b. 1852 March 27 1890).
          My grandfather was Alford Jackson Nichols m. Emma Lou Bowling. Colbert county AL. My dad was Ruby Marion Nichols m. Virlon LaVesta Stacy. Dad was born in Colbert County AL Sept. 6, 1917
          Need more on the Craig and Goldsmith families; and the Nichols as far back as possible.
