LOCATION: Driving directions: Hwy 184 East (East 2nd Street),
turn left at traffic light onto Ford Road (Mt Olievia Church on left). If
driving west, turn right at traffic light onto Ford Road (Mt. Olievia Church to
your left), proceed north on Ford Road, crossing railroad tracks. Make left turn
onto gravel road (between house number 1922 Ford Road and house number 1920 Ford
Road. Proceed carefully going slightly into a right curve and soon into a left
curve. Oliver Hampton cemetery is at your right and Pearsall cemetery to your
left. Oliver Hampton cemetery is located in section 29, township 3, Range 10,
Muscle Shoals, AL.
Oliver Hampton Cemetery was established December 2,
1985. The land was deeded and recorded in Deed Book #25, page 721, December 18,
1985 "Colbert County, State of Alabama, for cemetery purposes, by Oliver
Hampton and wife Naomi Hampton. The cemetery is to be perpetually used and
restricted for burial to the heirs and next of kin, by marriage or otherwise, to
the descendents of Oliver Hampton and wife, Naomi Hampton.
The oldest grave is that of Emma Lee Bulls, first cousin to Helen King Hampton,
Richella King Vinson, Henry Luke King and Johnny King.
The upkeep of the cemetery is done by children and
grandchildren of Oliver Hampton and wife Naomi Hampton.
