WILLIAM ALEXANDER CAMPBELL

RITES SET FOR W. A. CAMPBELL
William Alexander Campbell, age 71, of Leighton, route 2, died
this morning at 5:25 o'clock
at the home after being ill for two weeks. Deceased was born in Colbert county
and had lived here all his life, being a prosperous farmer in the east end of
the county for many years. He had been a member of the Primitive Baptist church
for 44 years.
Survivors: His widow, Mrs. W. A. Campbell; nine daughters, Mrs. L. W. Sparks,
Mrs. Floyde Lowery Mrs. Gorman Mitchell, Mrs. Joe Stanford, Mrs. Arthur Aycock,
Mrs. Roy Stockwell, all of Tuscumbia; Mrs. Frank Stanford, Detroit, Mich; Mrs.
Curtis Smith and Mrs. Cecil Posey, both of Leighton; a son, Walker Eugene,
Leighton; a brother J. J. Campbell; three sisters, Mrs. Minerva Quinn, Mrs. Lou
Roden, both of Leighton, and Mrs. Matilda Kent, Tuscumbia, and 12
grand-children.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2
o'clock at the Valley Grove Baptist church on Joe Wheeler highway by W. E.
Calbert, Baptist minister. Burial will be in the Glendale cemetery.
Brown-Service, Tuscumbia Pall-bearers will be nephews.
