James Madison Gray, known as Jim Gray, was raised in Lawrence Co.,
moved to Sheffield in about l9l8 and worked for Southern Railway for
35 years. He served on the Sheffield City Commission from l941-43.
Here, Jim Gray rides a bison at a local fair. Jim died in l961
and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery.
