WILLIAM B. STALLWORTH
William B. Stallworth 90, died Friday, March 15, 1996 . He was born in Conecuh County on July 29, 1905 to the late Mathew and Mary Stallworth. He was one of nine children , one sister and five brothers preceded him in death.
He confessed Christ at an early age at Bethesda Baptist Church in Nichburg. On July 29, 1929 he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Inez Simmons in Brewton.
He spent many years as a welder and sheet metal instructor at Alabama A&M Agricultural College in Huntsville. After his retirement from A&M College, he exhibited many talents throughout the city of Brewtonand surrounding areas; as a professional carpenter, skilled mechanic, blacksmith and welder. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, baseball and other sports.
Funeral services were held Thursday, march 21, 1996 at 12 noon from the Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church in Brewton with Pastor Willie J. Blue officiating . Burial was in Baptist Hill Cemetery, Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors directing.
Survivors include five children, William "Weasel" Stallworth, Jr. ( deceased) (Dorothy) , Lava Nell "Boot" Collins (Davy) , Mary Ellen "Bit" (Paul), Vera Evers Strong(Robert), and James Stallworth (Louise); 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister Mamie Andrews; one brother , Edison Stallworth; three sisters-in-law, Jennie V., Ora, and Nancy Stallworth; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
