DAVID THOMAS, SR.
David Thomas, Sr., 74, died Sunday, March 17, 1996 in a Mobile hospital. Mr. Thomas was born December 1, 1921 in Belleville. He was the 10th child of Ed Thomas and Ella Thomas.
At an early age he became a member of the Belleville Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member untill his death.
He was an active fire fighter with the Belleville Vol. Fire Department. He was a member of the Atlas Lodge No. 437. He was the president of the Sunday School Choir.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Annie Lee Lett-Thomas. To this marriage 11 children were born.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 23, 1996 at 1 p.m. from the Belleville Baptist Church with the Rev. S. C. Tucker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors directing.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Thomas; five sons, David (Mary) Thomas Jr., Billy (Evelyn) Thomas, Arthurly Thomas , Bobby Thomas , all of New Jersey, and Winston Thomas , Belleville; six daughters, William (James) Nicholas, Sharon Thomas, Both of Los Angeles, Ca. Ella Thomas , New Jersy, Helen Middleton, Moss Point, Ms. Annett Stallworth, and Janice Thomas, both of Belleville; a devoted son-in-law and friend, Johnny Middleton, Moss Point, MS; 32 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two brothers, Roosevelt (Naomi) Thomas, Chicago, Il and Willie Thomas, Detroit, MI; sis sisters, Jennie V. Thomas, Dorothy Brooks both of Chicago, IL., Veronia (Monroe) Ballard, Fairvies, Tenna Lindsey, Detroit, MI. Margaret Ree Davis and Franky Mae harrie, both of Los Angeles, CA; one uncle, Ceasar Maldon, Brewton, a special great granddaughter, Sequoya Stallworth, and a number of other relatives and friends.
