ON JULY1, 1882 A GROUP OF BELIEVERS CALLED UPON ELDER W.J. STANLEY B.F. STUCKEY AND L.M. DAUPHIN MINISTERS OF THE GOSPEL OF THE PRIMITIVE FAITH TO ACT AS A COUNCIL AND HELP THEM FORM A CHURCH. B.F. STUCKEY WAS MODERATOR OF THAT FIRST MEETING AND N.RUSSELL WAS CLERK. IT WAS DULY ORGANIZED INTO A CHURCH OF CHRIST OF THE PRIMITIVE BAPTIST FAITH AND IT WAS DECIDED THAT THE MEETING DAYS WOULD BE THE FIRST SATURDAY AND SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH. THE CHURCH WAS TO BE KNOWN AS COOL SPRINGS CHURCH. THIS STONE WAS PUT HERE BY LONNIE JONES IN 1972 AND WILL BE IN REMEMBRANCE. |
