PFC. WILLIAM GILLEY

Funeral services for Pfc. William Lafayette Gilley, 19 formerly of Tenbroeck, who was killed in Southern Germany April 11, 1945, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Highway Church of God with the Rev. J. M. Hartline and Rev. Clyde Hollins officiating. Pfc. Gilley was born near Tenbroeck and attended the Tenbroeck and Geradine schools. He entered the service June 19, 1944, and went overseas Jan 8, 1945.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Q. C. Gilley, Tenbroeck; one brother, Sylvan, Tenbroeck; three sisters, Misses Imogene and Wilma Gilley, Chattanooga, and Miss Betty Sue, Tenbroeck; grandmother, Mrs. P. E. Knott, Fyffe.

Burial will be in Gilley Cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home in charge.

The body is scheduled to arrive in Fort Payne Thursday night, Nov. 4, at 5:46 and will be carried to the home of his parents where it will remain until the hour of the service.
