Pfc. Austin M. Howell, was killed in action on August 29 in Saivar, New Guinea. He was the husband of Mrs. Iona James Howell of Fort Payne and the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Howell of Mentone, Ala., Rt. 1.

PFC. AUSTIN HOWELL

Funeral services for PFC. Austin M. Howell, who lost his life in action overseas Aug. 29, 1944, will be held in Chattanooga, Tuesday, June 27, with interment in National Cemetery.

Austin M. Howell was born and reared near Mentone. 

he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Neva M. Howell, Fort Payne; four brothers, Harold, Joe, Willard and Milford, who will attend the funeral rites.
