Johnson, Fort Payne, has been killed in action. His wife, Nellie Hawkins Johnson, received the sad message from the war department Friday announcing that he had been killed in France July 11th. Hank was the son of Mrs. Eula Johnson and the late Lon Johnson. He is also survived by four brothers; marshall, J. L., and Ben Johnson of Fort Payne and Pvt. Pat Johnson, of the U.S. Navy, Camp Shelby, Miss; also three sisters; Mrs. Zora Hallman, Portersville; Mrs. Iris Hill and Frances Johnson, Fort Payne. Hank was well and favorably known here and his friends will regret to learn of his death. he was 24 years of age. Before entering the service July 14, 1943, he was employed by the Chandler Freight Lines. he had been married three years.
