Hi Deep South Roots: We Af-American researchers have a hard time finding
our "past", our Roots, if you happen to know your southern family owned
slaves please post the information....I for one, would never feel offended..
I know its a shameful part of our (USA) passed, but it is in the past. Most
of us can only find leads from "caucasian" researchers. Below is a list
of vital information where you may find Slavery information within your
records... PLEASE share !
Attention All Rooters with SlaveData:
We would certainly encourage and support all researchers to share any and
all slave data you encounter in your genealogical pursuits. We, African
Ancestored Researchers (aka: Afrigeneas), have a project of
some 7 year duration to gather, compile and make available slave data to the
African Ancestored researcher. Records kept by the slaveowner are frequently
the only clue to our ancestors, particularly during the period 1619-1870.
Sought records include:
Advertisements Apprenticeship Bible Records
Bills of Sale Birth Records Census Schedules
Church Records Cohabitation Court Recorda
DayBooks/Logs Death Records Diaries-Journals
Inventories Legislative Acts Manumissions
Marriage Records Military Records Misc Records
Pension Records Plantation Records Run-A-Ways
SlaveOwerners Slave Sales Tax Records
Wills
If you feel in anyway "ashamed" "embarrassed" or "funny"
sharing your info: I will take info via email, and place your information
in the proper area of the forum to share with the Af-American researchers.
If you would rather your personal name not be included, I can under-
stand that, but a push in the right direction for someone else, would be
GREAT ! Thanks for reading this: Linda

Dear John:
Thank you so much for including us in your web page, the email
"clickable" address would be quicker to be
Slavedata@aol.com
They can edit out and place the people in the order they would
like the page to be formated into.
THANKS ! SO MUCH !!
Linda
