Vick-Kelley Cemetery           Vick-Kelley Cemetery

We found a total of 21 graves — both marked and unmarked.  Only three headstones were legible:

LEE, James - Feb 14, 1805 - Oct 4, ____ ~ (year of death unreadable)  [ PHOTO

LEE, Rhoda, wife of James Lee - Jan 1, 1841 - Dec 10, 1925  [ PHOTO

PERKINS, L.A.W. - July? 21, 1901 - Nov 9, 1928

Editor's Note: According to family researchers, Rhoda LEE (nee MORRIS) was first married to Peter VICK.  Federal Land Records show that Mr. VICK acquired more than 250 acres in 1859/1860 in Section 33, near the present site of this cemetery.  The graveyard itself appears to straddle lands patented to a Tilmon GIBSON in 1839 and James LEE in 1858.  The latter undoubtedly is the same man listed above, who died reportedly in 1888.  He married the former Rhoda MORRIS after Mr. VICK's death in the Civil War.  Rhoda's children have been identified as James Andrew VICK, Angiline LEE, Robert Q. LEE and Ella LEE, the wife of Rufus Washington KELLEY.
