"Seated l. to r. Miss Sarah Belinda SIMS, 1857-1925, Mrs. Malissa
Mosley SIMS, 1824-1905.
Standing, Jimmy MOSLEY, nephew of Mrs. SIMS.
Mrs. SIMS was the widow of E.D. SIMS who died at Iuka, Miss., Oct. 18,
1864, from injuries
received in a Troop Train accident near this town.
She lived on a small farm near Shady Grove Church
where she reared her three children and her nephew, Jimmy MOSLEY.
The house she lived in is shown in the background
and in the window can be seen a woolen coverlet.
The thread was homespun, died [sic] and woven on the hand loom
in the huge log kitchen that stood about twenty feet in the back of the
'main' house."
NOTE: Jimmy MOSLEY was
the son of James O. MOSLEY, who was a brother of Mrs. SIMS.
