Milton GAGE and

Milton
was the son of Jonathan GAGE, listed with wife Elizabeth in the 1850
Marion County census. Ten houses from Jonathan is Eliza Jane Harris 22,
living with a Thomas Harris 44. Does anyone know if this Fayette

I was wondering if anybody ever found out
where Abraham HOWTON
and his wife Dorcas CASTLEBERRY
were buried. I've
been told that they probably were buried in the city cemetery, but it
seems odd to me that the HOWTON family being so large and 'in my
opinion'
being one of the wealthier families in the area, there are no
tombstones.
I would also love to know where Abraham and Dorcas's son James HOWTON
and
his wife Matilda McCRAW
are buried and if anybody knows anything about
their children: William (who I think married a woman named Mary),
Daniel
(who I have nothing on...did he die young?), Lewis (also nothing at all
known about this child), Mary (who married John ROBERTS but I really
know
nothing else on this couple), Francis (who married Leonard POSS?) and
finally Emeline whose line I am familiar with because she was my Great
Grandmother. I am told that Emeline was buried at Pilgrim's Rest
Cemetery, but there is no tombstone...if anybody knows anything about
any
of these people I would be very grateful for information and/or
photos...I've never seen a picture of any of the people mentioned
above.
Please Help!

ISAAC B. JOHNSON was buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Fayette

AL, no dates, along with his son, HENRY JOHNSON and GRANDSON, WILLIAM
ISAAC JOHNSON "IKE". (1850 shows wife, Cassa Ann; 1860 shows
wife,
Catherine; then later wife was Martha.)
I believe two of LYDIA MARIAH ELIZABETH DOBBINS STRICKLAND, "MIRA",
shown
as a widow on the 1870 census in Fayette Co., AL, married two of ISAAC
B.
JOHNSON's children. MARGARET LUCINDA STRICKLAND married JAMES W.
JOHNSON, who might be his oldest son. Her brother, JAMES BARTLY
STRICKLAND married EPPA MALISSA JOHNSON, believed to have been his
daughter. They are also buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery
(but with
the incorrect dates showing them much younger that shown on Census
records).
Grandson of ISAAC B. JOHNSON, WILLIAM ISAAC JOHNSON, "IKE", married
MIRA's granddaughter, RELLA LENORE STRICKLAND, who was a daughter of
her
son, WILLIAM J.F. STRICKLAND and MARTHA ANN STUDDARD.

Seeking information on THOMAS R. KILGORE, born about 1838,
Walker Co.,
AL, on the 1860 census as the son of (JOHN) MICHAEL KILGORE and FATTIMA
TIREY, who died before
the 1860 census in the area that would later be
Carbon Hill, Alabama. Their seven children, four boys and three
girls,
were said to have been reared by grandparents who were: RALPH ELIZIE
KILGORE and NANCY LARIMORE
and JESSE VOWELL TIREY, SR. and MARTHA
"PATSY"
TITTLE.
THOMAS R. KILGORE, the oldest son, was on the Fayette County,
Alabama
1860 census, single, and head of his own household, which included his
two sisters, MARY ANN, age 15 and NANCY J. KILGORE, age 9. Their
sister,
MARTHA was shown living with her TIREY grandparents that year in Walker
Co., AL. Their brothers, JESSE, JOHN, and JOSEPH, do not appear
to be
in
either county.
THOMAS R. KILGORE married in Fayette Co., AL, after the 1860 census to
MANERVA STUDDARD, a
daughter of SAMUEL STUDDARD and second wife, MARY
A.
COOPER. THOMAS
KILGORE and two of her brothers, ANDREW and NATHANIEL
STUDDARD enlisted in the Union Army during the Civil War and THOMAS
died,
leaving no issue. MANERVA STUDDARD KILGORE remarried in 1866 to
JOHN
EDMONDS.
By the 1870 census, his two of his three sisters, MARTHA and MARY
ANN
KILGORE were probably married. NANCY J. KILGORE, the youngest in
the
family had moved back to her TIREY grandparents and was shown living
with
the widowed MARTHA TITTLE TIREY in 1870. NANCY J. KILGORE married
after
that 1870 census to HENRY WHITLEY.
I would like to know who MARTHA and MARY ANN MARRIED and to know what
happened to their brothers, JESSE, JOHN, and JOSEPH KILGORE.
(Was brother JOHN KILGORE, the same on the 1860 census in Walker Co.,
AL,
age 21, who was married to GALA ADELINE ___? with a six month old
daughter, MARY E. J. KILGORE. His uncle WILLIAM KILGORE, also had
a
son
named JOHN who was the same age so this might be WILLIAM's son.)
I hope I am providing new information for researchers interested in
