Fayette County, Alabama
~ Tabernacle Cemetery ~
Location:
On Oakman Road (State Hwy 18) about 2 miles northeast of Berry; on
land donated possibly by Samuel M. Stephenson (S9-T16S-R10W)
Copied by:
Herbert M. Newell Jr. & Jeanie Patterson Newell - 26 Dec 1958 ~
(additions/corrections are highlighted)
Many
graves at Tabernacle Cemetery are marked with stones that have
been eroded or broken off (see photo above). Some of the
burials that could not be located in 2012 must have had
legible stones when the Newells surveyed the cemetery in
1958. But even back then, several inscriptions were
hard to decipher. ~ Chip Collins, 8/24/2012
