Pilgrim Rest CemeteryPartial ListingLocation: T4N, R28E, Sec 14 - Starting at Grandbury Crossroads in southern Henry County, go east on State 134 for about 3 miles and then 1 mile south. Don't know the roads yet. First know interment is Mary Pybus (1827-1888). Deese and Whitaker are common to this cemetery still in use "This is a old cemetery it seems in the back of someone's back yard. Off 134 not far from Grandberry Crossroads. I went there is October 2000 by myself and there was a dog that wasn't too friendly. There are a few graves and some are not marked. I stopped and asked a gentlemen in his yard and he told me that the church has been gone for a long time, but it was the Pilgrim Rest Church." [Source: Margaret Long Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia] |
