1st Husband of Matilda SHIPES Trawick Martin; m. 12/12/1854; * unmarked grave, 1st one buried here, killed in
the Civil War. According to family stories, Henry J. Trawick told Matilda, his wife, as he was leaving to fight in the Civil War that if he
was killed he wanted to be buried under a certain oak tree. He was killed and buried under his favorite tree and began the Williams Family
Cemetery. There is also a family story that just before his family learned of his death a huge bolt of lightening struck this tree, which
they saw from the front porch of the house and by this they knew he had been killed. There were seven sons of Nancy Galloway (b. 1811 South
Carolina) and George Nelson Trawick (b. 1812 South Carolina) who served in the Civil War and only 3 returned alive. Henry J. Trawick served
in Palmer's Company, State Reserves. Note: Matilda D. SHIPES m. 1st Henry J. Trawick [m. 12/20/1854] m. 2nd Solomon Robert Williams [m.
