BRADBERRY, STANLEY posted by Joe Mack Walker on Wednesday, June 4, 1997

STANLEY/BRADBERRY connection. James STANLEY moved his family from NC to Henry Co. AL ca 1825. James BRADBERRY moved from NC about the same time and settled his family in Pike co. AL. I think that James STANLEY'S wife was Sarah BRADBERRY, daughter of James BRADBERRY. James & Sarah's first son was named James Bradberry STANLEY (my gg-grandad) In 1855 J.B.STANLEY moved his family to Trinity Co. TX. James STANLEY died in Henry Co, ca 1845 & James BRADBERRY died in Pike, Barbour or Russell Co. Any information would be appreciated.

GARDNER, THURMAN posted by Gloria Thurman on Sunday, July 27, 1997

I am researching the THURMAN families that were in the Henry Co. 1840 & 1850 census. Perkins THURMAN was married to Lydia GARDNER in S.C.. Who is his father? Are the Jeremiah THURMAN and John H. THURMAN his brothers? The John THURMAN that is on the 1840 census could be the father. Does anyone have any information on this family?

GUNTER, MERCIER, MORGAN, OATES, SHIPP, WARD posted by Mrs. Stevie Powell on Tuesday, July 29, 1997

Searching for information on John Charles OATES and first wife, Frances MORGAN MERCIER, a daughter of Isaac MORGAN. John Charles OATES, his mother, Elizabeth SHIPP OATES, along with his brothers and sisters came to Henry County, Alabama from Sampson County, North Carolina. About 1847 John Charles and Frances OATES, along with a foster daughter Mary Elizabeth WARD a foster daughter, came to what was then Hillsborough County, Florida, now Polk County, Florida. About 1862 Frances OATES died of Typhoid Fever and is buried here in Polk County. Mary Elizabeth WARD married John Belton GUNTER. They are my great grandparents. Frances OATES died in 1862 of Typhoid Fever and John Charles went back to Henry County, Alabama, married Sarah Christmas and he and his family ended up in Gonzales County, Texas. I need to find someone who might know something of this family and parentage of Mary Elizabeth WARD. Will answer all queries and share information. Mrs. Stevie Lou Powell
