I am researching for the Glover family of Henry County, Al. They also lived in Barbour, Dale, Geneva Counties in Al and Taylor, Bibb, Crawford, Taylor and Putnam Counties in Ga. John Glover married Sarah Paschal in NC they moved to SC and then to Ga and finally some of the children of John moved to Alabama after the death of Old John Glover. John Paschal Glover was the son of John Glover and Sarah Paschal. John Paschal Glover, Sr. married Drucilla Evans in Putnam County, Ga. in 1812. Old John and Sarah moved to Bibb/Crawford County and all but one of their 9 children moved with them even though they were married with children of their own. Along with them came other family members and inlaws. The McBrides, Vinings were among those that moved along with the Glover family. Old John Glover as he was called in court documents in Crawford county was a man of wealth and means. His will can be found at the web site listed below. This Glover was a very interesting family to say the least. I would greatly appreciate any info on these family names. There are still Glover families in Al. that came from this line and I am still trying to locate them in hopes of getting family information from them and sharing what I have wit them. My ancestors Owen Stuckey and Ester Jane Kennedy moved from Barbour County to Henry County, AL between 1860 and 1866. Their oldest son, Icabod, who first married Elizabeth Willis in Barbour County, was a widower by this time and about 1861 he married a woman whose last name was Rice. I believe that her name was Nancy, others think it was Judith. Does anyone have any information about this marriage? Is anyone interested in exchanging information on Owen Stuckey descendants? I have information on his ancestors that I am willing to share.
