In the 1850 census for Henry Co., my ancestors GEORGE FAGAN, age 47, & wife, MARY WELLS FAGAN,age 35, are listed as YEAGIN. The name has also been spelled FEAGIN. Any information on any family of FAGAN regardless of the spelling and the WELLS family would be greatly appreciated.

JONES - Amanda Caroline Jones. The Henry Co., AL 1860 census says b. AL 1850 says b. FL Married Rufus Daniel Sellers b. 1849 (oldest child b. Jan, 1849) maybe in Pike Co., AL She is supposed to have had a sister named Tempie, who married Rufus Daniel's twin brother, Wright. In the 1850 Henry Co., AL census, a woman named Susannah Jones is living with the Sellers family. Her age is 68. Also on the census are William Jones, 21, and Robert Jones, 20, both listed as having been born in FL. I have found a document in Henry Co. of an Amanda Caroline Jones who might be a namesake of my Amanda. She is listed in an Orphan's Court report upon the heirs of David G. Jones - February, 1847 as a minor at the time. There was also an accounting in Dec 1848. My Amanda is too old and is also married at the time. If you have any information on this Jones, I would appreciate it.

I am trying to locate information on my FORRESTER ancestors and their wives. Henry Allen FORRESTER (6-14-1812 - 2-22-1881) was married to Lucy Ann KNIGHT (6-6-1819 - 9-18-1888), daughter of Talbot Knight. They were both born in South Carolina. They settled in Henry County in Cowarts, Alabama. Their son Benjamin Albert FORRESTER (4-28-1843 - 12-13-1911) was married to Rebecca ANTLEY (2-7-1850 - 9-21-1933), daughter of Emanuel ANTLEY. Their son Redding B. FORRESTER (9-11-1869 - 2-25-1927) was married to Willie G. CROZIER, daughter of Will Crozier from Georgia. They were my great grandparents. They all resided in Cowarts, Alabama.

I am searching for the father of my Stephen Wood or Woods. I know his mother is Elizabeth ?? Wood or Woods, for they are on the 1850 Choctaw Co. MS census. Elizabeth is head of household, so that means the male Wood or Woods is probably deceased. A Furnifold Wood is right next door and I think they have a conn. with each other. I have info. that Furnifold Wood was in Henry Co. AL before appearing on the 1850 Choctaw Co. MS census. Stephen was born in AL, c1833, then the next child, Jeremiah was born in MS, c1834, so they must have went to Miss. right after Stephen's birth. Elizabeth was born in GA, so this makes me sure they have a conn. to Henry Co. AL. I think Stephen's dad might have been named Henry Wood, for Stephen named his 1st child Henry. I am trying to figure out the Kinchen Worrell scenario. Here goes. The Ebenezer Church Cemetery in Columbia, AL is in Houston County, formerly Henry County before 1903. My great-grandfather is buried here: "Yarbrough Worrell" b. 03/21/1900 d. 08/1985. He is listed in the 1900 census of Henry Co. with his parents "William M. Worrell" b. 02/1869 and wife "Lucy". A land patent was applied for by "Moses W. Worrell" in Henry Co. on 09/22/1897. "Moses Worrell" is listed in 1880 census for Henry Co., age 12 with his parents, "Thomas Worrell", age 32, b. 06/16/1846 and wife "Dora A.". This 1880 census lists 5 children for "Thomas and Dora", they are "Moses"(M,12),"A????"(F,10), "Martha"(F,8), "Thomas"(M,6), and "Cora"(F,10mths)."William Thomas Worrell" is also listed in the 1900 Henry Co. census. The census lists his birthday as June 1845, age 54, and both parents being born in North Carolina. In the Ebenezer Church Cemetery I mentioned above there are other Worrell's. "Clara S. Worrell" b. 1879 d. 1907, dau of "William T. and Dora Worrell", "Dora A. Worrell", b 1846 d. 1913, wife of "William T. Worrell", "Cora L. Worrell" b 1902 d. 1905, dau of "William and Lucy Worrell", "William T. Worrell" b. 1846 d. 1918, hus of "Dora A. Worrell", "William T. Worrell" b. 1876 d. 1894, son of above mentioned "William T. and Dora A. Worrell". The clincher is in the same plot area is "Elizabeth Worrell" b. 1809 d. 1905, wife of "Kinchen Worrell". The eldest "William T." is the father of "William T." and "William M. or Moses".The location of this cemetery is in the northeast corner of Henry County, AL that borders Georgia. From this area it is only about 50 miles to Stewart County, GA. In the 1850 census of Stewart Co, GA lists "Kinchen and Elizabeth Worrell" having 9 children: Lewis(M,13), Hezebath(M,10), Mary(F,10), Margret(F,6), Samuel(M,5), Fandy(F,4), Thomas(M,3), Susan(F,2), and Cassandra(F,10mths). I believe that the eldest "William T." is the son of "Kinchen" listed in the Stewart Co, GA census of 1850. The census lists Kinchen with a son Thomas, age 3, which corresponds to the cemetery plot at Ebenezer Church showing William T. b. 1846. There is also Elizabeth b. 1809, wife of Kenchen Worrell in this cemetery plot. It seems pretty odd that two Kinchen Worrell's lived within 50 to 100miles from one another and both married Elizabeth's. I'm alluding to the marriage record of Eliza Elizabeth Chancellor and Kinchen Thomas Worrell in Coosa, Co., AL on 12/12/1840. There has to be two Kinchen Worrell's because there is "Kinchen Worrell", age 37 in the 1850 Stewart Co., GA census and "Kinchen T. Worrell", age 28 listed in the 1850 Smith Co., TX census along with an "Eliza E. Worrell", age 29. Apparently the Kinchen Worrel in the 1850 GA census was married to Elizabeth. The oldest child being 13 that would put there marriage date at about 1837. Could the unknown child born to Bryant and Dorcas in 1813 be this Kinchen Worrell, age 37. If he's 37 that would put his birth at 1813. The 1860 nor 1870 Stewart Co, GA census has Kinchen or any of his children's names. There is no Kinchen in the 1860 or 1870 census for Henry Co.,AL. Is any of this making any sense. Please give me your thoughts.

Would like to exchange information with anyone researching the Tipton surname or who has information on Freewill Baptist history in Henry Co. Benjamin and Elizabeth Tipton were living in Henry Co when their son, Jason Vander Tipton was born in 1832. Ben was a Freewill Baptist minister who ministered to churches in Decatur and Early Co, GA and Wakulla Co, FL. Would like to find out where in Henry Co he was and if he pastored a church in 1832.

I am searching for the parents and siblings of James P. GRAY born abt 1824 in Henry, AL. I first find hin in Hardeman, TN in 1850, married to Elizabeth (THOMPSON?), 1860 Tishomingo, TN, 1875 he marries Mrs. Ann MARTIN (evidently Elizabeth has died) 1880 Mrs. Ann GRAY reports she is a widow and living in Camp, TX with an older son, stepdaughter Ann living with family. Children of James and Elizabeth:Margaret, Nancy, Mary, Susan, Julia, William, Arthur, Mahaly, Matilda, Martha, James, Molly, Johnny, Annabell and Walter. Children are born between 1845 and 1871 in TN, MS and AR. James' father may be James also.

My maternal grandmother was Ruby Mary Harrell b. 12/10/1920, she is still living in Dothan, AL. She married Beaucham Worrell b. 08/29/1918 d. 05/16/1989. My maternal great-great grandfather was William Moses Worrell b. 1869 d.?, he married Lucy S. Harrell b. 1874 d.?. According to my mother my grandfather and grandmother were 2nd cousins, weird, huh. All of this occurred in what was Henry County, present day Houston County, mostly around the Columbia, AL area. My mother tells me that she thinks her grandfathers name was Henry, I haven't confirmed this with my grandmother yet.

My grandfather was John Anderson b. 04/16/1909 d. 08/15/1988. He was married to Ruth Mathews b. 08/04/1914 d. 04/02/1987 in 1930. John's father was Barbry Anderson b. 10/12/1865 d. 07/14/1932. He is buried in Memphis Church Cemetery near Cottonwood, AL, Houston County. He was married to Mary F. Whitaker b. 1875 d. ? on 11/22/1886 at the courthouse in Columbia, AL Henry County at the time. I haven't been able to find any other earlier reference to Barbry Anderson.

My ancestors lived in and around Henry County, they were: Walker's, Hodges, Callens, Peoples, Pittman's and Hill's. I am an African American, and would appreciate any information anyone can share with me on the listed names. They lived on or near a settlement once called "Granberry" near Tumbleton, Alabama. Some lived in an area called "Browns Crossroads" and the "Callens Farm" or "Callens Plantation". If anyone can tell me how to get a listing of burials at the following cemetaries, will also help me a lot. They are: Baulkin Church Cemetary, in Tumbleton(or near), and Soul or Seoul Chapel Cemetary. I need information on all of these areas, I am at a stand still in my research and will be very greatful if some one could give me a boost.

Looking for siblings/parents of King David Golden/Golding/Goulden of Henry Co., Dale Co., AL and Early Co., GA. KD married his second wife, Francis Henly, in Henry Co., AL on Aug 23, 1874. KD died about 1884 in Henry Co., AL. I believe his sisters might be Amanda and Caroline who both married Vickers in Henry County in the 1840's.
