CORLEY, SELLERS, STANDLEY posted by Joe Mack Walker on Thursday, July 1, 1999

I have a copy of the Henry County Orphans Court records dated April 25, 1842. This was the final settlement of Jerimiah Corley's estate. Jerimiah's widow, Mary, had married Mathew Sellers in 1837 and he was the executor of Jerimiah Corley's (no doubt about the spelling) will. There were 5 shares divided this way: 1 share to James Standley for his wife Jerimiah Corley. 1 share to James B. Standley for his wife (Matilda)Marabelle Corley. 3 shares to Mathew Sellers for his wife Mary and 2 minor children. I also have copies of the original marriage records of both Mahala Corley to James Standley and Matilda Corley to James B. Standley. On both original documents the names is Corley. None of the original records say Cowley.

STANDLEY, SYLVESTER posted by Joe Mack Walker on Saturday, July 24, 1999
Rebecca, In response to your query about William Sylvester and Nancy Standley: Nancy Standley was the daughter of Needham Standley & Elenor Hogan. Needham was the son of my ggg-grandfather, James Standley, who moved to Henry co. AL from NC around 1815-1820. Elenor was the daughter of Isam Hogan. William Sylvester & Nancy had 5 children: Missouri, William W. Jr., Needham, Latitia and Martha. Kitty Ann Standley, Nancy's sister, married John Adam Sylvester, William's brother. Kitty Ann died 1927 in Falls co. TX and Jahn Adam died in Robertson co. TX. Is this the family you were talking about?

I am searching for parents/siblings of Spencer Wright shown in 1850 Census in Henry County. My ancestor was his son William Henry Wright born May 1848, Died July 1940 in Texas. His spouse was Emily Peters. Could Spencer be related to Westly?

WRIGHT posted by Harold E. Wright on Saturday, July 31, 1999
I'm sorry but I do not know any of Spencer Wright's ancestors. As you know, there are 3 Spencer Wright's in the 1850 Henry County, AL census but no reference to Westly Wright. There are 2 WILLIAM Wright children listed in it also. I put a query in Henry County hoping that Elias Wright, son of Westly Wright was my Gr-Grandfather. However, I have not been able to confirm that yet. Would appreciate any help.
