MARTIN - WOOTTEN - GARNER - MARSHALL - WILSON - KARR - BUCK
Date: Sun, 1 Nov 1998 10:02:00 -0800
From: "Carolyn M. Getting" <jgetting@ix.netcom.com>
James MARTIN died ca 1835 in McLean Co., IL. Documents from the Estate show a Reubin MARTIN heir at law, with wife Elizabeth, children: Rhoda MARTIN m Jesse B. WOOTTEN 11 Jan 1844 Lauderdale Co AL, Mary MARTIN m Peter R. GARNER 9 Dec 1845 Lauderdale Co AL, Jane MARTIN, Ann MARTIN, James P. MARTIN and Asberry MARTIN. A power of attorney was filed in McLean Co., IL in 1849, at which time, Reubin was already dead.
James MARTIN, who is apparently the father of Reubin MARTIN bought land in
1831 in McLean Co., IL and from descriptions, etc it was at or around
Randolphs Grove, IL. Mary MARTIN (my Line) who married William B. MARSHALL on 6 Jan 1817 in Wilkes Co., NC (marriage Bond, James MARTIN Bondsman & W. W. MARTIN, wit.)was also an Heir at law, and filed a power of attorney, first in 1837, given to Jesse MARTIN and in 1841, to David WILSON. A Deed to Rachel KARR in 1851 includes some of the land bought by James MARTIN in 1851 and is signed by the relict of Reubin MARTIN and her children by Power of Attorney filed earlier.
A Francis MARTIN is on one document, but it looks like he may have died
right after the settlement of the Estate began, and a Franklin MARTIN and
wife Mary are on a document assigning their rights to a Hiram BUCK for
administration of their rights in the estate. Any information on this family will be greatly appreciated.
Carolyn,
just an old Texas Gal.

I am trying to go back from him and prove the information that I have is
correct.    Thanks.   Stan Williams
